Membership It is an honor to be asked to join UCLA Prytanean, as membership is by invitation only and is extended to selected UCLA women alumnae who have given outstanding service to UCLA and/or their community. Beyond the tradition and prestige of being selected to be a Prytanean is the opportunity to join with out outstanding women alumnae in providing continued service and support to UCLA. Members have been selected from each class throughout the decades. As such, one of UCLA Prytanean's unique traits is ongoing participation by graduates from eight decades - 1930s through 2000s. Participation does not require a heavy financial or time commitment but allows for activities and get-togethers during each season of the year. The top priority is raising funds for scholarships for UCLA students. For this purpose, Prytanean annually holds a Spring Benefit. This event is usually held at an interesting LA location. Past benefits have included events at the: House of Blues Malibu Getty Queen Mary Magic Castle redwhite+bluezz Jazz Club Along with great entertainment and good food, there is also a silent auction with a drawing for items donated by individuals and businesses.
